Mumford & Sons to release new EP ‘Johannesburg’

Mumford & Sons have announced a collection of new recordings, Johannesburg, with Baaba Maal, Beatenberg and The Very Best on June 17th 2016.

The songs were recorded in February in the South African city from which it takes its name, during Mumford & Sons’ recent tour of the country, and will be released on Gentlemen of the Road/Island Records.

Bass player Ted Dwane explains: “Going to South Africa felt to us to be an adventure into a continent that none of us knew well. The appetite for live music is huge and the youth culture is exploding with energy and rejuvenation.”
