Devendra Banhart releases new album ‘Ape In Pink Marble’ today

Amercian/Venezuelan singer-songwriter-guitarist Devendra Banhart releases his ninth album, Ape in Pink Marble, today (September 23rd 2016), on Nonesuch Records.

The album was written, produced, arranged, and recorded in Los Angeles by Banhart along with his longtime collaborators Noah Georgeson and Josiah Steinbrick, both of whom also worked his 2013 album, Mala.

Talking about the record, The Line Of Best Fit said: “Even compared to other folk artists, Banhart always manages to feel unbelievably present, like he’s performing in the next room over. That quality makes Ape in Pink Marble a truly strong record”.

An accomplished visual artist, Banhart’s distinctive, minutely inked, often enigmatic drawings have appeared in galleries all over the world. He has created the cover art for most of his records, and in 2010 his artwork and packaging for What Will We Be was nominated for a Grammy.
