Adele does the double at the BBC Music Awards 2016

Adele dominated the BBC Music Awards 2016 for the second year in a row:

  • BBC Radio 2 Album of the Year for ’25’
  • Song of the Year for ‘Hello

Adele is now the most decorated BBC Music Award winner to date. Last year she won British Artist of the Year and BBC Live Performance of the Year for ‘Adele At The BBC, A BBC One Special’.

She was unable to attend the ceremony last night (December 12th) in London and instead sent a message saying: “Hello again. I’m so sorry I’m not there. I’ll be home soon and I cannot wait. It’s been a long year on the road and this makes me feel a little less homesick. I can’t wait for Wembley and then to get back to normal. Special thanks to all my fans for voting for the song. You are all amazing, Merry Christmas, Love Adele.” Watch Fearne Cotton relay Adele’s acceptance speech here.

Robbie Williams accepted the album of the year award on Adele’s behalf saying: “It’s an honour to accept this award on your behalf. It’s an amazing album, and you’re an incredibly deserving winner. You’re also an amazing mum. The hardest working mum in showbusiness. Congratulations Adele.” Watch his speech here.

Adele has just wrapped up her North American tour and will return to the stage this summer for four massive sold out Wembley Stadium shows in the round.
