Pearl Jam and Yes inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame 2017!

Congratulations to Pearl Jam and Yes who were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame at the 32st annual Induction Ceremony at Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York on Friday April 7th, 2017.

Artists are only eligible for inclusion in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of their first recording.

Pearl Jam‘s induction comes in the first year that the band have been eligible; their debut album Ten came out in 1991. Retired Late Show host David Letterman (filling in for Neil Young who had to cancel due to illness) inducted the band on the night. Listen to a Rock Hall-curated Spotify playlist here.

At the Barclays Centre Pearl Jam performed Alive, Given To Fly and Better Man. To close out the induction ceremony, the band were joined by members of Rush (Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson) and Journey (Neil Schon, Jonathan Cain) to perform Neil Young’s Rockin’ In the Free World along with Yes guitarist Trevor Rabin and George Harrison’s son, Dhani Harrison.

Yes is the most enduring, ambitious and virtuosic progressive band in rock history and continue to tour to this day. Rush‘s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson inducted the band. Listen to a Rock Hall-curated Spotify playlist here.

Lee joined Jon Anderson, Rick Wakeman, Steve Howe, Alan White and Trevor Rabin onstage to play Roundabout at the ceremony in place of late Yes bassist Chris Squire. Following Roundabout, Lee left the stage and the band then performed Owner Of A Lonely Heart, their No. 1 single released originally in 1983.
