Glastonbury Festival 2016 initial line-up announced

This morning Glastonbury announced ITB artists ZZ Top, James Blake and Låpsley on the bill, joining previously announced Saturday headliner Adele.

The largest and arguably best festival in the world takes place on Worthy Farm, Pilton in Somerset, UK, from the 22nd -26th of June 2016.

Started in 1970 and attended by more than 177,000 each year, Glastonbury raises millions of pounds for charities. The festival, which sold out in record time, will put a small amount of return tickets on sale in April.

Låpsley wins SXSW award 2016

Many congratulations to Låpsley for winning SXSW‘s Developing Non-US Act award (aka the Grulke Prize).

The Developing Act Prize is awarded to “artists who are breaking new ground with their creativity and show the most promise in achieving their career goals” as part of the South by Southwest annual music festival held in Austin, Texas every March. The two other Grulke Prize 2016 winners are Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals and Iggy Pop.

Record Store Day 2016

The ninth annual Record Store Day will take place on April 16th 2016, featuring exclusive releases from many ITB artists.

Record Store Day is the one day of the year when independent record shops come together to celebrate their unique culture. Special vinyl releases are made exclusively for the day and many shops and cities host artist performances and events to mark the occasion.

Adele to headline Glastonbury Festival

Adele will make her first-ever festival headlining appearance at the world’s largest festival, Glastonbury. She appears on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday June 25th.

She told the crowd at her gig at London’s O2 Arena on Friday night, part of her eight night residency at the venue, that she was the third and final festival headliner.

Adele told the audience: “I wanted to do it last year but my record wasn’t ready. And to the people who say I’m too boring to headline, you’re more fucking boring for moaning about me headlining”.


The world’s largest festival takes place in Pilton, UK from June 22nd – June 26th; she joins previously announced Friday and Sunday headliners Coldplay and Muse.

Currently on tour in the UK, the singer who recently scooped four Brit Awards, culminates her sold-out UK and European tour with the Glastonbury performance before heading to the States for an extensive tour.

The Who to headline Isle of Wight Festival 2016

British rock icons The Who will headline the Saturday night slot (June 11th) at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival. The band will be bringing their The Who Hits 50 tour to the island for their only UK music festival this year.

Richard Ashcroft is confirmed as special guest to The Who on the day, performing tracks from his new solo album This People.

The festival is held at Seaclose Park in Newport on the IOW, UK from the 9-12 June. The weekend line up includes headliners Queen + Adam Lambert, Stereophonics and Faithless.

Placebo announce 20th anniversary World tour

Placebo has just announced a world  tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album “Placebo”.

The band will be on tour for two months, starting in Aarhus, Denmark, on the 13th October and finishing in London at the Wembley SSE Arena on the 15th December. During this period, Placebo will be playing shows in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Latvia, Russia, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Holland, UK and Ireland. Amber McKenzie: The People’s Assistant 2016

Many congrats to ITB’s Amber McKenzie who won The People’s Assistant Arthur Award at the International  Live Music Conference (ILMC) 2016. The award was presented to Amber at the ceremony last weekend at The Savoy Hotel, London.

For over two decades, the live music industry’s equivalent of the Oscars have been handed out during ILMC. The Arthur Awards has a voting pool of over 4,000 of the world’s leading concert business professionals. The nominations are decided by a committee of 100 industry professionals.

Amber has worked tirelessly for Senior Agent Steve Zapp since 2004. Their incredible roster of artists includes Biffy Clyro, Courteeners, EditorsPublic Service BroadcastingRival SonsRumerThe LemonheadsBalthazarBaronessSoulfly and The View amongst many others.
