Congratulations to Adele who won an impressive four Brits last night! They were:

  • British Female Solo Artist
  • British Album Of The Year (25)
  • British Single (Hello)
  • Global Success Award

The Global Success gong was presented to her by British astronaut Tim Peake via video link from the International Space Station, calling her a ‘true global icon’. During her acceptance speech she quipped: ‘Not bad for a girl from Tottenham who don’t like flying, winning Global Success!’

Vintage Trouble announce UK and EU dates

LA rhythm & blues band Vintage Trouble announce UK headline tour in June. The run of shows start at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on 22nd June and will feature ITB’s Slydigs as special guest support.

Previous to that, the band play South America, Australia, Asia and mainland Europe. All dates and ticket info.

Richard Ashcroft returns with new single and announces new album

Brit and Ivor Novello award-winning and Grammy nominated artist Richard Ashcroft has announced details for his fourth solo album These People.

The former The Verve frontman’s album will be released on May 20th on his new Righteous Phonographic Association label (via Cooking Vinyl). Listen to the first single This Is How It Feels here.

These People was produced by longtime collaborator Chris Potter, as well as marking a reunion with Wil Malone, who worked with Richard on the string arrangements on the seminal albums by The Verve A Northern Soul (1995), Urban Hymns (1997), and his platinum-selling and critically acclaimed debut solo album Alone with Everybody (2000).

John Mayall, OBE to be inducted into Blues Hall Of Fame 2016

Congratulations to legendary blues performer John Mayall, OBE who has been named as a Blues Hall Of Fame 2016 inductee.

Eric Clapton, guitarist with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers in the 1960s, was inducted in 2014, while the bluesmen who inspired Mayall, including Sonny Boy Williamson, J. B. Lenoir, Otis Rush and Freddie Kin were among the first inductees.

Mayall boasts a career that has spanned more than half a century and has served as a pioneer of blues music, earning him the title ‘The Godfather of British Blues’. He released his latest studio album ‘Find A Way To Care’ in September of last year, tying in with a 55-date tour of the UK and Europe.

Selected by a group of blues scholars and industry veterans as the ‘Best in the Blues’, Mayall joins four other musicians as one of this year’s  honourees.

The induction ceremony will be held on May 4th, at the Sheraton Memphis Downtown in Memphis, Tennessee.

Laura Marling to appear as special guest to Neil Young, summer 2016

Laura Marling will appear as special guest to Neil Young on selected UK and Ireland summer dates.

The folk artist will join the legendary singer-songwriter for solo special guest spots in Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin and Leeds from the 05th – 10th of June 2016. All dates and remaining ticket info here.

Adele and Maroon 5 are named among the biggest selling global artists of 2015

Adele has been named the world’s best selling and most popular music artist of 2015. Maroon 5 come in at Number 7 on the The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) Global Recording Artist Top 10 chart.

According to Official Charts data: “Adele sold over 15 million copies of her latest album ’25’ worldwide last year since its release in November, including 2.65 million in the UK alone.

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler teams up with Skittles for an advert to be broadcast during this Sunday’s Super Bowl 50.

Last year an estimated 160 million people worldwide tuned it to watch the American Football game, and set a new record for the most-watched event in US television.
