Robert Plant announces new album and autumn tour

Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters take to Glastonbury‘s Pyramid Stage  this Saturday. Following additional summer festivals and headline shows in Europe, Plant and his band will be touring the UK and IE in November.

A new album ‘lullaby and…. The Ceaseless Roar’ is due out on the 8th of September. It will be his first release since 2010’s ‘Band Of Joy’, which hit number 3 in the Official UK chart. Plant’s 2007 collaboration album with Alison Krauss ‘Raising Sand’ won six Grammy Awards, including ‘Album of the Year’.

“It’s really a celebratory record, powerful, gritty, African, Trance meets Zep,” Plant says. Watch the album trailer here: http://bit.ly/1mh1xsY

Billy Idol announces first new album in a decade

Three time Grammy nominee Billy Idol has announced he will release his first new album in almost a decade this October.

The album will come out on Idol’s own BFI Records, via Kobalt Label Services.

Produced by Trevor Horn (Yes, Rod Stewart), the new album will arrive close to the release of Idol’s highly anticipated self-written autobiography, “Dancing With Myself,” which will be released worldwide in October. The track of the same name was his first chart hit, first released by his former band Generation X in 1981.

The forthcoming release will be Idol’s first album since “Happy Holidays” in 2006 and his first of original material since “Devil’s Playground” in 2005.

Currently on the road in Europe with his band, which includes long-time collaborator and lead guitarist Steve Stevens, new music from the album will be released in late summer.
